This solution defines the operational processes, services, and systems to support trajectory revisions in execution that can be initiated by either the airspace user (AU), the network manager (NM), or local flow management. This solution supports the definition by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) of trajectory revision (FF-ICE/R2), in strategic execution, while tactical changes of the trajectory are out of scope of this solution.

The solution will provide AUs with flexibility to re-optimise trajectories in execution and will increase predictability and automation in air traffic management (ATM) through the anticipation of trajectory changes, thereby reducing tactical controllers’ workload. The resulting benefits will be in terms of capacity, fuel efficiency, flexibility, and environment. The solution will also improve interoperability with regions outside Europe through alignment with ICAO FF-ICE/R2 developments.
