The solution focuses on multimodal common situation awareness and increased coordination between air, rail, and waterborne transport modes to facilitate seamless multimodal journeys, particularly in pre-tactical and tactical time horizons. Based on monitoring traffic and passenger flows, the solution enables detection, anticipation, and sharing of potential multimodal issues along with their impacts.
It supports collaborative measures to reduce interruptions or to jointly establish alternatives that allow journeys to continue with minimal impact. The solution delivers two main operational improvements:

On the airport side, the solution builds on previous SESAR work on airport operations planning, airport performance management, and total airport management. By enabling relevant data sharing between transport modes, it supports a first set of use cases in both nominal and non-nominal situations.
