The alternate surveillance (A-SUR) solution enhances aircraft tracking by leveraging alternative communication systems such as satellites, 5G, and LDACS. By reducing the load on traditional surveillance infrastructures, it improves both safety and reliability of air traffic management. The solution also increases the accuracy of trajectory prediction, supporting safer separation between aircraft and minimising the risk of losing critical data. Through more precise tracking, A-SUR contributes to a connected, resilient, and efficient ATM system, in line with global efforts to modernise airspace operations.
