The project aims to extend and mature the SESAR U-space Concept of Operations for the integration of drones into controlled airspace. Building on the success of CORUS and CORUS XUAM, it willis expanding the scope to cover areas currently not included such as above very low level airspace and near controlled airports. The updated ConOps will include functionalities and U3/U4 services supporting U-space integration, and propose SESAR Solutions, flight rules, and airspace structure elements. It will address key concerns, including liability, the quality of digital terrain models, and the convergence of altitude references (Mean Sea Level vs. Above Ground Level). The ultimate goal is to publish the fifth edition of the U-space ConOps, enabling safe, green, and acceptable operations for both crewed and uncrewed aircraft.
